I have a mini 2140 with a standard Ubuntu install which has everything working great most of the time. However occasionally when booting up the keyboard and touchpad remain completely unresponsive making it impossible to log in. Forcing a reboot once or twice brings the keyboard back and everything is fine.
Anyone having a similar problem or can offer any solutions. Thanks.
I am not having that problem nor can i offer any solution. Have you tried any other OS yet, Even if temporarily? I have a 2140 with ubuntu and have never had a problem with the kb or tp being unresponsive. Try to get a live cd for some other OS and see if it ever happens or even boot off of an ubuntu live distro and see if it happens on that. I have used 8.04, 8.10 and UNR withouth ever having that happen.

I've had this problem twice on my 1030NR Mini.... If I reload all is fine. If I boot from a Live disk/USB dongle all is fine.
There is a library that is getting hosed during updates. I forget the name of the library, but I saw it by using Alt F3 to bring up a text terminal, then checking the end of the /var/system/messages log. I think I used DMESG to view it. Was 3rd line from the bottom for me. I just finished a reload of that machine, or I'd post the library name.
As a plus, I have a second 1030NR now. I had this happen on my first machine, and thought it was something I was doing while Modding it. But when the EXACT same screen came up on the new machine, I started looking for other issues. Once I got the New machine working, I pulled out the first one, and found it was fine also! Yea!

At least I know it's not just something I've broke then. I think I'll wait for Jaunty and see if that fixes it.
Though I am feeling adventurous and may be trying Crunchbang instead.
I've installed jaunty and I'm having a similar problem on some of my reboots. Can't figure it out.
