HI All

I've got a Compaq 700 series (the HP clone) and am going to give it a go in a day or so.

Just wanted to know if anyone has encountered any problems reverting back to WinXP, (or even tried)

I know what you're thinking - "why would anyone bother??" but just in case I decided to sell the Compaq it would probably be better (and legal) if I put WinXP back on...

Hello,

Trying to install OS X from my USB Pen and I can't seem to get it to boot. I have formatted the USB Pen correctly, restored the disc image to the pen and added all the EFI/Boot loaders but when I try to boot I just get a flashing '_' at the top left of my Netbook screen. I also had to use the chameleon boot loader, as the V8 wouldn't install.

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Mark.

Hi,

I am installing iDeneb onto my Mini 700 with an external DVD drive. I have booted, selected all my install options and I think it is installing. Currently I have the iDeneb background and the menu bar at the top but no windows on the screen. HDD activity light is flashing away mind.

Thanks,
Mark.

yeah, I think you could try rolling back to F05 just to be on the safe side - at least it's been proven that OS X would install that way - specially for iDeneb that is.

btw, what method are you planning to use? Retail, iDeneb v10.5.6 or iDeneb v10.5.5 :?:

I am going to be using iDenebv 10.5.5 - i heard it was the easiest. I have LOTS of mac and osx/os9 experience but this is my first hackintosh.

Does anyone know how i can roll back the bios to f05?

I rolled back mine to F05 by downloading the bios from HP's site (HP Mini 1000 support/download page) and run the exe file in windows, it'll flash your bios back to F05.

You don't need to downgrade your bios. Mine works with the latest bios (did bios updates before i installed everything)

FWIW, iDeneb 1.3 works on BIOS F.11.
