I'd like to see some windows & web pages open on it. How is the text size?

The little one just arrived a day early. The text is really tiny for really old eyes.

Uploaded some shots of some webpages and intellij (java programming IDE).

The text is fine on my eyes... I can see how someone with "older" eyes might have a problem... but I'd much rather have to increase the font size to my liking rather then be stuck without enough screen real-estate...

The delivery ordeal is over. I spent 40 minutes at the FedEx facility while they searched for the package (it had been misplaced).

I like it. This is the first Netbook I've ever touched. The text is fine, but I've always preferred dense displays. I've got 40/20 vision, so it suites me just fine.

The scroll region on the right-hand side of the touchpad is way too wide. It's really getting in my way. I'll need to hunt down the procedure for doing two-finger scrolling (a la MacBooks).

I was expecting the mouse buttons to be firmer. I wasn't expecting them to be squishy with a lot of travel.

I definitely don't like the 6-cell battery and will be looking to get a 3-cell. It really makes using the device on the edge of the sofa quite difficult (which is, frankly, where this device will see 75% of its use).

Tomorrow's challenge, throwing in the 120GB OCX Vertex SSD I bought.

That really sucks about the shipment... sucks a lot... glad you got it though! I'm really torn on the 6 cell battery -- I like the capacity -- and I use it has a handle! but.. it sure looks ugly!

When you take the keyboard off to get the SSD and RAM in... don't forget there are 3 screws... not 2...

P.S. - Don't worry too much about the hard drive switch, Mike. The hardest part (in my opinion from watching all those video how-tos) was unplugging that really delicate thing right before actually taking out the hard drive. In the Mini 2140, that delicate ribbon cable thingy isn't there, so there's almost no chance you actually breaking something.

I wasn't sweating it. I've taken apart much trickier things. In and out -- It took all of 5 minutes. I think the trickiest part is getting the battery off with a sprained finger.

Booted to a SD card with the Vista installer, and got to work. Just had some driver fun because HP only puts driver updates on their site, and not the full suite of drivers like I'm used to with Dell. Some drivers from the XP driver disc were incompatible with Vista. I still have one unrecognized device, but I'll deal with that later.

This screen rocks! Now I don't have to scroll as much...
