Hewlett-Packard’s recent trademark filing might suggest the name for the upcoming WebOS Slate.

In the trademark filing, Hewlett-Packard will trademark the word ‘PALMPAD’ and categorizes it as being one of the following:

Computers, computer hardware, computer software, computer peripherals, portable computers, handheld and mobile computers, PDAs, electronic notepads, mobile digital electronic devices

There’s the iPad, WePad, EeePad, and probably many more…why not the PalmPad from HP?

    Why not th PalmPad, did'nt the HP “iPaq” preceed the iPhone, and iPad, and did'nt Cisco own th name and trademark IOS before Apple licensed, borrowed or took it?

    How original, they could have called it HandPad (hpHP) or PhonePal (cut 25% of Palm and add 5 layers of management) or simply pinky, the smaller lighter palm.

    Everyone knew webOS was always destined to do great things. Not letting down the fans after acquisition of Palm, HP has now unveiled the “Touch Pad” running HP webOS 3.0 along with the two phones which all have HP webOS 2.0 on board.
