The HP Mini 1000 was the first of Hewlett-Packards netbook models, and first of the “Mini” series. It was released in October 2008 and became very popular because of its almost full-size keyboard (92%) and its aesthetics. Its glossy screen, clean look and slick design made it a winner among netbooks.

The HP Mini 1000 and Compaq Mini 700/1000 series were discontinued in May, and replaced with the HP Mini 110 series.

I Have a HP Mini 1035 with the 16GB SSD and I'm not happy with the sound quality of its speaker system when I'm listening to music thru the Windows Media Player. Is there audio software or anyway I can enhance its sound quality?

I have a 1035 and a 110 running Win 7 Pro and Ultimate.  Since getting the 1035, I have upgraded the RAM, added an 8GB SD, and replaced the 16GB SD with a Toshiba 60GB drive.  The 110, I have simply upgraded the RAM.  The 1035 has become an invaluable tool in my day to day operations – I use it for troubleshooting connections, configuring customer DSL modems, and occasionally to run Hulu.  My 110, on the other hand, sits in my closet most of the time.  I feel the 110 Series was somewhat of a quality downgrade from the 1035 series.
